Summer has officially come and almost gone but there has been plenty of fun going on. Max and Paige have got themselves some nice tans due to spending lots of time at the pool which has been great. They’ve also managed to spend plenty of time playing on the playground we finally got put up.
The highlight for Paige would have to be her little friend Grace that she is connected to at the hip. It is so funny to see the two play together. They want to play all day, everyday. When they see get together they greet each other with hugs, smiles and giggles. It is great and we are so glad she has found someone up here to be close with. She definitely misses her PG friends and loves every chance she gets to go play with them.
For Max, the highlight has to be the riding a big boy bike with no training wheels. We went camping over the 4th and I asked Max if he wanted to try and ride without his training wheels. He said yes so we ripped them off and he took right off. I barely had to help him at all and he was cruising around the parking lot. He had his share of spills, cuts, scrapes and bruises but he never gave up. He just kept on going and going and going. For about 2 1/2 days, all he wanted to do was ride his bike. That attitude has continued since. It has been a blast to go on bike rides around the neighborhood as a family. He is still working on the braking thing but manages to find curbs or other large obstacles to crash into so he can stop. He usually falls down, says ouch and then gets back up and keeps going.
For Tiff and I, the highlight has just been spending more time as a family, getting out and enjoying the outdoors and yes, finding out the baby #3 is going to be another boy! Max and Paige were both so excited. Max was determined from the beginning that it was going to be a boy. I’m pretty sure he has some special powers that the rest of us don’t have.
Max is doing great with treatment. Daily chemo pills and monthly visits still continue but he does so good with it all. We are down to about 27 months left of treatment and can’t wait for it to be over. Sunday we were able to do our Pictures For Patients event with Take it 2 the MAX up in Park City at the Park Silly Market. It was great and we had about 140 kids come through that painted pictures for kids staying up at Primary Children’s. It was a great event and we all had a blast.
Only about 4 more weeks left of summer so we’ll be cramming as much in as we can. Thanks to all for your continued support as we keep fighting. So glad we are winning!
